Make an Impact?

Almost 50 years ago mild-mannered minister, David Watson wrote, ‘If we were willing to learn the meaning of real discipleship and actually to become disciples, the church in the West would be transformed, and the resultant impact on society would be staggering.’

A staggering impact on our Western society would be very welcome at this moment in history.  And, to be honest, a bit of an impact upon my life as a follower of Jesus and upon the church I belong to wouldn’t go amiss either.

Do you ever long that your personal relationship with Jesus was deeper?  Would you like to see yourself, your church members and leadership team clearly living as ‘salt’ and ‘light’ in your local community – and more fully reflecting the character and values of Jesus in all our relationships?  If the answer to those questions is ‘Yes’,  then it begs the follow-up question, ‘What will you do to make that happen?’

Silver bullet?

When it comes to growing as disciples, there is no such thing as a ‘silver-bullet’, but intentional, prayerful, practical commitment to Jesus’ values, his way of life and purposes for the world WILL make a difference and produce fruit.
