Partnership in Mission Overview

Partnership in Mission

Webnet churches are encouraged to give at least 5% of their general income as an expression of partnership in the gospel.

During his ministry on earth Jesus showed all kinds of people how to live well. He recognised that many of us fail to notice and pay attention to the most important things in life – leaving us with lives that at best are out of kilter. One day he asked this question:

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion?
Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life…
Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

Doesn’t that sound good?

Throughout the UK, men, women and young people are discovering that Jesus is not merely a real person from the past, but very much for today as they learn to ‘keep company’ with him and ‘live freely and lightly’.

Communities around the UK are being shaped and impacted by Partnership in Mission through grants to churches and regions that create innovative mission projects; new and deeper Christian community; new expressions of church; and the resourcing and renewal of existing local churches.

This is what we’re seeking to do. This is what is beginning to happen in different places and situations in the West of England.

This is what your giving to Partnership in Mission achieves.

This freewill giving enables all the Regional Support provided by the Webnet team, and grants to Webnet churches and new missional communities, and also various forms of specialist support which are available across our Baptist Union.

Each month we try to share with our churches one example of what this giving is achieving. These news stories should appear on the website, and they’ll also be featured in our fortnightly email update.

It’s very important that Webnet churches understand how Partnership in Mission works. Please get in touch with us if you’d like to arrange hear more about Partnership in Mission, with a visiting speaker who can share some of these stories.

You can also download videos to show in church.

Four things to remember about giving to Partnership in Mission:

1. We rely on freewill giving from our churches to enable everything we do together as a network of Baptist Christians.

2. If every church gives at least 5% of general income, we can look to a sustainable future

3. The easiest way to give is by setting up a monthly standing order to West of England Baptist Assocation sort code 40-52-40, account number 00006162 and use the reference: PIM + Church name

4. It’s important that your fellowship understands what this giving is for. Contact the Webnet Hub to arrange for someone to talk about Partnership in Mission.

In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now
