Sharing tea at the WEBA AGM 2015

WEBA AGM and Summer Gathering

We’re really thankful to all those who took part in our Annual General Meeting on Monday 6th July.

Chipping Sodbury Baptist Church were extremely generous, not only in allowing us to use their beautiful, spacious, and welcoming new building, but in providing all the catering right down to the individual pots of cream and jam that made serving cream tea to well over 100 people a practical reality, and providing the worship band, PA, projector operator and stewards.

It was great to have Rev. Jenni Entrican with us – now President of the Baptist Union, but ‘sent’ originally from that church. Jenni guided us imaginatively through the story behind Jesus’ words in Luke 9 and 10, the sending of the seventy-two.

Thanks too to those who took part, our chair Steve Robinson and outgoing Finance Trustee Paul Evans who led us through the business of the AGM. You can see and download a version of the presentation that was shown to summarize WEBA’s activities in 2014 here:

It is possible to download and play this ‘Prezi’ offline by following this link and choosing ‘download’.

After the business meeting, Aaron Beale and Moira Beagley  shared the stories of their own ‘sending’ into the mission field right on our doorstep. You can read more about the stories of Beydd Community and The Ivy Hub in this post.

Our Chair of Trustees Steve Robinson explained that we could do with up to four or five extra Trustees with the right combination of skills and experience. Click here if you think that someone in your church might be able and willing to serve in this way.
