Some of you will know that I have been talking to a couple about the possibility of working bi-vocationally in the local area. (Portishead, Pill, Portbury, Easton-In-Gordano). This is to further develop the work that I have been involved with to date, as well as to engage in wider prayerful engagement to discern where God is at work and how best we might join in.

The good news is that the discussions have, at last, been fruitful and Paul and Barbara Revill will be starting as bi-vocational ‘local area ministers’ in October. Some of you may know them.

It will be a joy for me to be part of a local team, as well as part of the regional team. Planting the gospel here in Portishead has been exciting but a bit of an overstretch of my capacity! Further, most of the folk involved in the gospel planting are non-believers and whilst that is fantastic on one level, it’s going to be great to have a couple of strong believers to regularly worship alongside.

Please pray for both Paul and Barbara as they adjust to what is, for them, a significant, but sacrificial calling. As part of their prayerful preparation, Paul is planning on a 6-week pilgrimage, walking all the way from South Shields! You can get updates regarding Paul’s pilgrimage by clicking here
