During his ministry on earth Jesus showed all kinds of people how to live well. He recognised that many of us fail to notice and pay attention to the most important things in life – leaving us with lives that at best are out of kilter. One day he asked this question:
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion?
Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life…
Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
Doesn’t that sound good?
Throughout the UK, men, women and young people are discovering that Jesus is not merely a real person from the past, but very much for today as they learn to ‘keep company’ with him and ‘live freely and lightly’.
Communities around the UK are being shaped and impacted by Home Mission through grants to churches and regions that create innovative mission projects; new and deeper Christian community; new expressions of church; and the resourcing and renewal of existing local churches.
This is what we’re seeking to do. This is what is beginning to happen in different places and situations in the West of England.
This is what your giving to Home Mission achieves.
We’ve put together a one minute video to explain what the Home Mission Fund is. Click Here to watch and/or download it to share with others in your church.
This freewill giving enables all the Regional Support provided by the webnet team, and grants to webnet churches and new missional communities, and also various forms of specialist support which are available across our Baptist Union.
Each month we try to share with our churches one example of what this giving is achieving. These news stories should appear in the right hand column of this page, and they’ll also be featured in our fortnightly email update.
It’s very important that webnet churches understand how Home Mission works. Please get in touch with us if you’d like to arrange a Home Mission Sunday, with a visiting speaker who can share some of these stories.
You can also download videos to show in church from this collection on vimeo: https://vimeo.com/album/4746349

Another way to give is by collecting used stamps from all over the world, with a 1/2 inch border around the stamp. It would be great if you could separate the international ones when sending. The address to send them to:
