Seventy-Two

Introduction

“Discipleship – frankly, it’s the best word we’re given in the Bible, which most usefully describes the intention of somebody to live for the glory and worship of God. It’s a word which gets us into the heart of our relationship with God”  Christian DNA groups, Nigel Coles

We cannot grow healthy churches without encouraging and supporting missionary disciples. Alongside your local church, and your cluster, we hope to provide resources that will help you on your journey of discipleship.

Seventy-Two

The gospel writer, Luke, tells us of a time when Jesus sent 72 disciples, two by two, to nearby towns and villages with the good news that God’s kingdom is near. Alongside our Regional Partners we have been developing Seventy-two as an umbrella term for initiatives to help people ‘find their way in the mission of God’.  The Discipleship Cycle

The discipleship cycle is a simple way to read the Bible more intentionally, either on your own or with two or three others. It’s often best to choose a passage and stick with it – try reading Luke 10, the chapter from which we take the name Seventy-two, and see how God speaks to you through these verses over the next six months.
