“…and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

In June this year Regents Theological College are partnering once again with Searchlight Theatre Company to produce and tour an exciting new show that is available to book for just £200. From Simple Beginnings is an exciting new comedy set in the modern day that explores the book of Acts and the hilarious situations Christians seem to find themselves in; situations that are surprisingly recognisable. The show is written and directed by David Robinson (director of Searchlight) and Rich Hasnip (performing arts course leader at Regents) and features students from the BA in Applied Theology and Performing Arts programme at Regents.

A church somewhat familiar and a bible study unlike any other; From Simple Beginnings, much like the book of Acts, follows a group of people trying to be obedient to God and worship together while doing their very best to get along. When things go hilariously wrong and the plan seems to fail can the church see beyond itself and be part of God’s much bigger agenda? A show that is sure to bring a smile and a reminder that God often works in the most mysterious ways and surprising places.

We are looking for churches to join with us in this venture and support Regents students as they perform alongside professional actors and produce together a brilliant production that explores the implications of being obedient to God today.

For £200 (which also covers travel) you can secure one of the tour dates – Only 21st, 22nd and 23rd June are left to book –  as well as six free tickets and a unique discount code to purchase discounted tickets on the Searchlight website. All we ask you to do is accommodate our team of 7 actors for the night, help us advertise the show and encourage your congregation to come along and maybe even bring a friend. Searchlight/Regents recover the remaining costs through ticket sales.

If you are interested in partnering with us and booking this production please contact Ollie Ward, oliver.ward@regents-tc.ac.uk  a.s.a.p as there are only a few dates left to book.
