The Gospel for all?
25 May @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Introduction from Nigel Coles
Whilst it will be some time before we know the results of the 2021 census, the ‘non-white, British’ elements will undoubtedly be higher than in 2011, which were Bristol (16%); Gloucestershire (4.6%); Somerset (2%); Wiltshire (3.4%). It is evident our churches collectively, do not currently reflect the 2011 figures, so it is most likely we shall have fallen even further behind. Yet we believe the gospel is for all who dwell across our region, the west of England. We don’t need to go far anymore to ‘go and make disciples of all nations’ (Matthew 28:19).
We are beginning to dream of a day, as we shared in ‘Carriers of God’s Future’ when: The vast majority of our churches reflect the ethnic mix of their local community, as a result of peoples of all nations and ethnicities, who dwell in the West of England, finding Jesus Christ as Lord.
We need to start somewhere and this webinar will mark the start of a new adventure.
We’re grateful to welcome Yinka Oyekan, our current Baptists Together President, to help us focus and hearts, minds and prayers and we invite everyone and anyone from across our churches, to engage in what surely must become a greater priority for us together.
