We recently asked Albanian Baptist Union Administrator Klajd to tell us a little more about himself and to share with us what being involved with our WEBox Appeal has meant to him…
Hello, my name is Klajd. I’m 31 years old. In February 2022 I started my fourth year, working with the Baptist Union of Albania. I have been going to church since I was a little boy, with my mom and sister. My first church was “Lajmi i Mire” in Lezha. One of the things that I remember dearly was the time around Christmas. Every year we used to get boxes with gifts and cards made by kids around our age from churches in Europe. Me and my sister couldn’t wait to open them as soon as we went home. Everything was kind of magic. We didn’t know what we were going to get.
And now 20 years later, God is using me to be a blessing for other children across churches in Albania. Last year I have seen the hand of God in my life. We had only 2 weeks left until Christmas, to prepare the boxes. We were panicking, we didn’t know how we were going to do it. The retailer that we worked with the year before didn’t have enough products in the warehouse for us. As soon as we were losing hope a pastor of one of the churches in Tirana suggested a different store. I went the same day to speak with the manager and we reached an agreement to do the boxes there. We did 8 churches in 2 days. It was a miracle.
I was very encouraged by the project last year, very thankful for all the brothers and sisters from churches in England who have been supporting us for so many years. Thank you and God bless!!
In 2021, thanks to your generosity, we were able to send over £8000 to the Albanian Baptist Union so that churches there could share boxes or bags of gifts with children as part of their community outreach. Please pray for Klajd, for the churches in Albania and for all those who received your gifts last Christmas. We hope to do another Appeal this Christmas…look out for details soon.
